Eltan supports the Intel® Atom® x6000E Series processors (formerly known as Elkhart Lake processor family)

To support the next generation of IoT edge devices, Intel has developed a new line of processors enhanced for IoT—The Intel Atom® x6000E Series, Intel® Pentium® and Intel® Celeron® N and J Series processors. These processors build on new levels of CPU and graphics performance with integrated IoT features, real-time performance, manageability, security, and functional safety.

The Elkhart Lake platform is an Intel Architecture (IA) Multi Chip Processor (MCP) 2 Chip Package, built on a 10 nanometer Compute Die and a 14 nanometer Platform Controller Hub (PCH) into a single package. More information about Elkhart Lake is available at the Intel website

For the Elkhart Lake platform we can implement for your design:

We can also assist you with your own hardware design or provide you with a complete turnkey design. We have evaluation versions available for the Phoenix BIOS, Slim Bootloader and coreboot. Please contact us for details.

Elkhart Lake incorporates an Intel® Programmable Services Engine (PSE), which is an offload engine that uses an Arm* Cortex* M7 core. The PSE have the following capabilities:

  • Embedded Controller (Lite) for battery, power, and thermal sensor management
  • Out of Band Manageability
  • Sensor hub
  • Network Proxy, capable of remote system wake up
  • Real-time and low power compute using Zephyr* Real Time Operating System (RTOS)
  • Time Sensitive Networking

Contact Eltan in case you want to customize the firmware of the PSE.

Some specific versions of Elkhart Lake incorporate Intel® Safety Island, a tightly coupled architecture based on Arm* Cortex* M3 core. This enables Functional Safety (FuSa) Applications.

Contact Eltan for FuSa firmware implementation within your Functional Safety Application.

We are closely working with Intel to provide you with the best possible support for your Intel embedded product.
